Iaido is the art of drawing the sword.  Using a Japanese Sword or katana

and through precise and dynamic forms a student can train themselves both

physically and mentally.   Training is conducted as solo practice.

The schools or "ryu" of Iaido  practiced at Aikido of London are Muso

Shinden Ryu and Shindo Munen Ryu Tachi Iai.  Muso Shinden-ryu is an

Iaido koryu or traditional (old) school and has been passed on to and

developed for modern times by Nakayama Hakudo (1869 - 1958). Nakayama

was one of the greatest martial artists of the 20th century. He was a master

of Kendo, Iaido, and Jodo.

Iaido can be practised  with Aikido.
